Katherine F. Thackray
Katherine F. Thackray graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011, where she studied English and creative writing. She then obtained her master’s degree in social service from the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, where she concentrated in clinical social work. During her time at Bryn Mawr, Kate gained experience working with individuals and families in a counseling setting. She soon became passionate about applying that experience in the legal realm, and graduated magna cum laude from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2018. In law school, Kate served as a staff editor for the Temple Law Review, acted as the Peer Mentor Chair for the Women’s Law Caucus, and co-founded the Law Student Wellness Association. Kate also participated in Temple’s Elderly Law Project, where she prepared wills and health care directives for Philadelphia residents. Upon graduating, Kate was inducted into the Order of the Coif honor society and received the Jerry Zaslow Memorial Award for outstanding academic achievement and well-rounded activity within the law school community.
Kate joins Alexander & Pelli after beginning her career at a boutique trusts and estates firm in the suburbs. She is a member of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. Kate focuses her legal practice on estate planning and administration, and enjoys partnering with clients to help them achieve their estate planning goals.
